Biography

Jonas Kappel Lund is a composer, sound designer and musician based in Aarhus, Denmark. He is currently working on music & sound design for video games and he also plays guitar on a frequent basis with different jazz groups and other things.
 
Jonas has a masters degree in guitar and composition from The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and a bachelors degree in classical guitar from Tromsø University College in Norway. He's attended courses in music & sound design for games and received training in Unity and Wwise.

  • Soundtracks for video games
  • Soundtrack for Jakob Martin Strids "Rejsen Til Jorden" (audio book)
  • Soundtrack for "Den Sorte Succes" (documentary film about Broen TV series)
  • Solo album "Jonas Kappel Quartet" with a jazz quartet
  • Debut album "Aurora" released in 2009 on Calibrated Records/VME
  • Classical compositions for a variety of ensembles and soloists
Awards & grants include:
  • Winner of Best Sound Design & Music at Arsenal Easter Game Jam 2015-16
  • 2nd place at Danish Youth Jazz competition 2007 (Ung Jazz)
  • Grant from KODA for development of music for video games
  • Grants from DJBFA for different music related projects
  • Grant from Danish Arts Council (Statens Kunstfond)
Work experience includes:
  • Game audio implementation in Unity, Wwise and Unreal
  • Music and audio production on soundtracks for apps, films and games
  • Recording and playing as a musician on guitar and other instruments
  • Teaching music at different music schools in Denmark and Norway
